Globe Op-ed for all women and especially all men
Toxic masculinity is killing us By Renée Graham OCTOBER 17, 2017 In a scene from the short-lived 1970s TV western “Nichols,” a man named Gulley shoots Hansen, his best friend. For years, the two had squabbled over vague insults and Gulley, hopped up on alcohol and egged on by cruel instigators, kills Hansen in a duel. Asked why he murdered his only friend, Gulley says, “I couldn’t live with myself if I hadn’t proved to him that I was still a man, and not some old fool.” If only such noxious beliefs about what it means to be a man existed in fiction alone. Literally and figura Read more
I will soon be spending much less time on XH
To all of my friends here, official and otherwise, I will soon be taking something of a vacation from XH - perhaps for a few weeks, perhaps for longer. At present, I have no intention of formally retiring my account, if for no other reason than occasionally strangers come across it and seem to enjoy the content. In addition, it provides a way for anyone who is not a "friend" to leave a comment or message for me. Most of my XH friends have my e-mail address and we can communicate that way as I check my e-mail multiple times a day and usually respond within a few days or even soone Read more
superb article on why climate change is real
By Thomas Levenson GLOBE COLUMNIST APRIL 17, 2016 LAST MONTH, DONALD DRUMPF sat down with the editorial board of The Washington Post for over an hour. The Post editors asked him about his foreign policy advisers, about his plans to revive US cities, about law enforcement, race, libel laws, thuggery at his rallies, and more — until, hard against the end of the session, there was time for one last question. What about global warming, asked editorial page editor Fred Hiatt: “Is there human-caused climate change?” No, Drumpf replied. Not really: “I think there’s a change in weather. I am not Read more
My 50 favorite movies
Once again, stealing shamelessly (well, it's not really stealing since she told me to do it) from Ellenblake) here are the first 50 movies that popped into my head as my favorites. I've probably forgotten some and, when they pop into my head, I'll either add them or replace some that are already on the list. We'll see. In no particular order (except Bedazzled): Bedazzled (the original with Dudley Moore and Peter Cook) Princess Bride Notting Hill True Lies Manchurian Candidate (the original with Frank Sinatra and Laurence Harvey) Body Heat Lord of the Rings (the trilogy bu Read more
My fifty favorites songs of all time
(I stole the idea from my friend, Ellen Blake) These are the first 50 that came into my head so i might revise it as some point. In no particular order except for number 1. I've started adding links to YouTube versions of the songs. In some cases it's the album version and, in others, it's a live performance. The studio version usually has better sound quality but, sometimes, the live version is more musically exciting or more visually exciting. If you like a song, you might check out other versions of it. Tom Rush - Urge for Going - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vk9QFRvVQQ0 Bo Read more

How I view friendship on XH
There are many different types of friends, from casual acquaintances to BFF's. I have friends in real life - I want friends here who offer me something that my RL friends don't. To my surprise, I've found quite a few here who do just that. Some are friends no longer (for various reasons) but I enjoyed the time when they were. Following, in no particular order, are some of my expectations of my friends here. 1. Show some interest in me. Ask me questions about my life, likes and dislikes, music, etc. I may choose not to answer but at least it tells me that you care about me. Being your frien Read more

Why most of the porn I watch is lesbian porn
I was recently asked if I only watch lesbian porn. I've spent a good bit of time since thinking about what porn I watch and why. I've never considered myself to be much of a writer but I'm going to try anyway. First, let me define a few terms as I will use them. Lesbian sex is sex with two women. Straight sex (and I'm not wild about the term because of its implication that non-straight sex is twisted) but I'll use it anyway, is sex with a man and a woman. Threesome sex is sex among one man and two women. Lesbian threesome sex is sex among three women. I have no interest in male homosexual s Read more
Breast enhancement
First, a few general comments: Most porn actresses, at least those who are larger than a B, by the time they've reached 40, have had some kind of breast work. Some are done to add support and shape in the never-ending battle against gravity. These tend to look much better than enhancements done to increase size. Some actresses with small breasts seem to feel that having them significantly enlarged will make them sexier, more marketable, or both. They're probably right about the latter but, to me, having large, unmoving semi-globes attached to a small chest just looks weird Read more
