Nothingness, that’s the only way to describe the view from my window seat onboard my direct flight from Kununarra located in the tropical Northeast of Western Australia to the capital Perth in the south. Nothingness can change slightly from repetitive ripply red lines of small regular craters to complete flatness to larger circular ripples to straight as if etched using a ruler lines. The only commonality is the redness of what is the richest and largest iron ore deposits in the world that look so incredibly infinite. A blend of greens and reds etched into the side of ancient jagged cliffs that harbor unique circular pools of water that where formed by developing waterfalls millions of years ago that still feed them today, large rivers and red flood plains speckled with extraordinary green bushes found at the end of the wet season.
