It isn't often that we discover where our predilections, fetishes, fantasies, and desires were first born. For some it seems encoded in our DNA. Others can recall youthful memories where we were exposed to some element that intrigued our little brains. Sometimes we never really know where they came from. But in snuggling with my boyfriend last week, I was reminded of a work of art I saw as a teenager while studying art and humanities. It set a fire in my veins and a lifetime of experiences desired and achieved and led to many more sexual needs, wants and encounters.

When I was in school, we went on a field trip to the Speed Art Museum. While there, I saw a sculpture that held my fascination. It was a life-sized sculpture by John De Andrea called Manet: Déjeuner sur l’Herbe, 1982. It portrayed a nude female lounging with two clothed gentlemen. I'd never seen anything like it before and I was captivated. It was a beautiful piece of art, extremely realistic, in fact, at first, I didn't know that it was a sculpture. I thought it was the sculptors and their muse taking a break. I was embarrassed to think I'd walked in on them like that. It aroused me to imagine being nude with two men by my side and all the possibilities of such an event. So it was there that the seed was planted. I am fortunate in that I have been able to live out some of my MMF fantasies, though much more exist and persist. There is plenty of time to pursue those.

De Andrea's work was inspired by Edouard Manet's painting Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe (Translation: Luncheon on the Grass.) Manet was inspired by Titian’s "Pastoral Concert", which served him as the actual theme, while the group array was based on "The Judgment of Paris" by Raffaello Sanzio (Raphael.) In The Judgment of Paris, the men are river gods and the nude female a naiad.

Another of De Andrea's sculptures was also in residence at the museum, "Sitting Woman, 1972." This beautiful life-sized female nude sculpture awed me in her vulnerability and was instrumental in turning into the little sub at heart today and one of the reasons I love being examined closely and explored by my lovers.

So I'm curious. What fantasies do you have that you know the origins? Have you been able to experience them. And if so, did they live up to the dream? I know mine have surpassed all of my dreams and more.

If you are interested in seeing the art I mentioned here, I have created a gallery for it on my profile.

Sometimes I find artwork more sexy than photos.

The origins of my fantasies don't come from art, they are mostly situations from real life that in my fantasies go into some other directions, the ones that were never reached in reality..
