No, I haven´t. The thought have crossed my mind many times, but do I really wanna be a criminal? I´m from Sweden and here it´s not legal to buy sex from whores. But the real reason I think is I´m too shy

Many many many many times.
And i've enjoyed it with each one of them (hope they did too).

I have never used a prostitute or escort for sex... not out of disrespect for the women who have to make a living in the industry, more that a woman's choice is vitally important to me.
A woman (in my own view) has to WANT to be with me for it to mean anything - so in that sense, paying for her to spend time with me, socially or intimately, seems nonsensical. While I COULD do it, it wouldn't mean nearly as much as a woman who actually wants to be by my side as opposed to me paying for her to be there.
I don't take a dim view of women in the industry, quite the opposite, as I have known a few personally. I just don't see it (the practice of using a prostitute or escort) as being for me.
That may change if I became elderly or infirm I guess though... Never say never, right?
