A socialogical enigma

i have been on xhamster for over three years and due to recently embarking on writing a book thought i would jot a small something on my profile page. this is not a story as such, more a question that doesnt bother me buts nags.

i just wonder why people on xhamster set up fake profiles? i realise some guys maybe pissed at an ex or want to pretend they are a girl to entice a guy, or even pretend they are a sexier guy to hit on a chick, but surely the amount of time and effort involved would be worth just investing in a prostitute? seriosly, i cant understand why people go to such lengths to fabricate alter egos. free world etc but there are so many fkd up individuals out there what is the evolutionary point. are they all just mutataions as the human brain tries to adapt its primeval self to catch up with technological advances?
