DomCon
While perusing a BDSM site last night I bumped into an ad from a dominant woman looking for a submissive male who is available to accompany her to DomCon in Los Angeles. No picture was posted on the ad, which was a bit curious, but there was so much specific verifiable information in it that I believe it to be legitimate. In short, I'm interested.
For those of you who are unaware, DomCon is a huge BDSM and fetish event held annually in Los Angeles, New Orleans, Australia, and various countries in Europe. While dominant, submissive, and switch lifestylers of all genders and orientations are welcome, the convention has a decidedly Femdom feel to it. This is not a fly-by-night operation. Many of the attendees are the most sought after Pro Dommes in the world. There is a mission statement and board of directors. There are vendors of sex toys, bondage gear, BDSM furniture, slutwear lingerie, etc... so many as to fill an entire ballroom with kink. BDSM writers, bloggers, life coaches, and advice givers also will be in attendance. It's a big fucking deal.
The ad was long with a lot of tedious rules and requirements and a long application designed to weed out a lot a subs. I'm not complaining because this actually works in my favor. I spent over two hours working on my response last night making sure every "i" was dotted and every "t" was crossed. The way I see it, most of my competition won't want to jump through the hoops to merit serious consideration. Plus there is a financial aspect to this, as well as being able to travel from May 18-22. By coincidence, it just so happens I have some vacation time coming up in May. I don't want to count my chickens before they're hatched, but I think I stand a good chance of being selected.
We'll see.
