I too, make notes about author's that I enjoy (Mystic47, Melanieatplay, Lubrican, Squatting Eagle, and Professor_Chaos to name a few). A couple of things that annoy me are: no punctuation and long, long paragraphs with no breaks. Why do I write? Well, for a couple of reasons. I think that erotica has become back IN vogue (Think "50 Shades of Grey). All the ladies that I know, even at my church have read this book/series. Second, I believe that the mind is powerful. Growing up I used to watch Alfred Hitchcock movies. His direction would let your mind make the leap to what actually happened not just overtly graphic detail like many of today's films. Finally, I like to write longer stories. I get frustrated reading a story that is 1500-2500 words. My first two stories "Amy and Darleen" are each at the 10,000 word level. Thanks for your essay! |

One thing that I do when I come across a writer with multiple stories, I read the top two (by approval) and then the bottom two to see if I can figure out why those stories got such low approval scores so I can improve my craft. |
